1. Introduction & Overview

Welcome to Tuny Music. This Privacy Policy describes how Tuny Music ("we", "us", or "our") protects your privacy when you use our Android application.

We believe in absolute data privacy. Tuny Music is an offline-first, local audio utility designed to operate independently on your Android device without harvesting or transmitting personal information.

Core Privacy Guarantee: Tuny Music does NOT collect, store, sell, or transmit any personal data, audio recordings, song files, or usage telemetry to any external server.

2. Information We Handle (Zero External Collection)

When you use Tuny Music:

Audio Files: The app accesses audio files stored locally on your device (MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, AAC, OGG) solely to play them and allow you to set A-B loop segments. These files are never uploaded to any remote server or third party.
App Settings & Loop Presets: Your loop points, loop count history, folder groupings, and playback speed preferences are stored exclusively inside a local Room SQLite database on your device.
Personal Identity & Credentials: Tuny Music requires no account registration, login, email address, or phone number to function.

3. Android System Permissions & Why We Need Them

Tuny Music requests only the minimum necessary Android permissions required to provide high-quality audio playback and looping functionality:

READ_MEDIA_AUDIO / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE Required to scan and display your on-device audio library so you can select and loop your local music/audio tracks.

FOREGROUND_SERVICE & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK Required to maintain uninterrupted audio looping and count tracking when your screen is locked or while multitasking in other apps.

POST_NOTIFICATIONS Required on Android 13+ to display the system media notification player with loop controls, playback buttons, and loop count status on your lockscreen.

WAKE_LOCK Prevents the CPU from sleeping during active music rehearsal and loop sessions.

4. Third-Party Libraries & Analytics

Tuny Music uses standard, official open-source Android Jetpack libraries created by Google:

AndroidX Media3 (ExoPlayer): Used for high-precision, low-latency local audio playback and looping.
AndroidX Room Database: Used for secure on-device storage of your playlists and loop markers.
Jetpack Compose & Material 3: Used for the user interface.

We do not integrate any third-party behavioral analytics (such as Facebook SDK or advertising trackers) that monitor your activity or fingerprint your device.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Tuny Music does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children of any age. Since no personal data is collected from any user, the application is safe for all audiences, including children and students.

6. Data Security & User Control

Because all data is stored locally on your device within Android's sandboxed application storage:

You maintain 100% control over your files and settings.
Uninstalling the application or clearing app storage in Android Settings permanently deletes all local presets, playlists, and histories.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically if new features are added. Any updates will be posted directly to this web page with a revised "Effective Date".
